Cookie Policy
Exactly what this site stores in your browser, and why. It is a short list.
Last updated: 15 August 2026
The short version
We use one cookie, and only after you sign in. We use a little browser storage to keep your learning progress. Optional analytics are off until you accept them. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking on this site.
Change your choice at any time.
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the Service to work and do not need your consent. Turning them off would break signing in.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
ez_session |
First-party cookie | Keeps you signed in. HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict, so page scripts cannot read it and it is not sent from other sites. | 7 days |
ez_cookie_consent |
Local storage | Remembers your choice on this banner, so we do not ask again. | Until cleared |
2. Functional storage
Stored in your browser (local storage), not sent to us as cookies. These make the games work and keep learners' work separate.
| Name | Purpose |
|---|---|
ez_model_user_id | Your account ID, used to label your saved progress so two students on one computer never overwrite each other. It is not a password or a session key. |
ezjr_*, sp41_state_*, ez:* | Saved game and app progress, so play continues offline and resumes where you left off. |
3. Analytics — optional
If you accept, we record simple usage events — such as which page was viewed and how far it was scrolled — with a random session ID. If you are signed in, your account ID is attached so we can understand learning journeys.
- These events are stored in our own database. We do not use Google Analytics, and no third party receives them.
- They are used to see which materials help and which are ignored.
- Decline and none are sent. Everything else on the site keeps working.
4. Third parties
Some content loads from other companies. They may see your IP address as part of serving that request.
| Who | What | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Google Fonts | Typefaces | No cookies set by us; Google receives the request. |
| YouTube (Google) | Video thumbnails | Videos are not embedded — thumbnails link out, so YouTube's player cookies are not set here. If you click through, YouTube's own policy applies. |
| Vercel | Hosting | Standard server logs. |
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. If you block the sign-in cookie you will not be able to stay signed in. Browser help: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
6. Do Not Track
We do not run cross-site tracking, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off. We honour Global Privacy Control signals by treating analytics as declined.
